We made it to Sault Sainte Marie...which is as I just learned is affectionately known as the "Soo"...who knew...?
We are at a small campground just outside the "Soo". It was a long drive but surprisingly not tiring as we change drivers every 2 hours. In preparation for this trip my good friend Jennifer suggested we watch the Netflix Documentary "Losing Sight of Shore", about 4 women who row across the Pacific Ocean from San Francisco to Cairns Australia. They row two hours on and two hours off. If you have chance to watch it, it is worthwhile...let me just say here, driving to the "Soo" is much, much easier...and no one got seasick...
On the way we stopped at a small Marina in Blind River to walk by Lake Huron...ok...now name the Great Lakes...can you do it? Try HOMES...now try it...
At any rate it was a lovely stop as you can see...
Tonight we had a great fire at our campsite helped out by the homemade firestarters our friend Gail gave us for our trip...
Everyone needs to know this...take an empty egg carton, fill each section with dryer lint then melt paraffin wax over the dryer lint...you need to use only one section per fire. Drop it into the pit, add small wood, light the egg section and voila...you have a fire...and I mean really, who doesn't have dryer lint???
Happy Solstice!!!
